Did a deep clean on the cube today, vacuumed the sump and had to strip and clean the skimmer for the second time in a month due to the fuge light growing algae on the inside of the skimmer. I decided to make a light barrier and glue it to the skimmer stand so this should now help
So my tank has been overrun with Amphipods due to there being no fish and my zoas have began to suffer from this. I don't think they are eating the Zoas so to speak but they are definitely irritating them and keeping them closed, so I have setup a nano tank to house the Zoas. I dipped the ones being troubled and put them in the setup free of Amphipods so let's see what happens.
Also did a small mod on my curve 5 skimmer. Decided to try immitate the JNS bubble plate with its multiple conical bubble channels and this was the result. Will probably make a new version already in the future, but for now this is good enough for testing purposes.
Other than that, nothing to report. Still waiting for my fallow period to end
