Quick lil update. Added a lawnmower blennie a while back to help with the algae and he's done a good job so far.

Also add a pair of baby clowns which are doing well and hosting in my elegance. The elegance is huge and gets a whole corner of the tank for itself.

Also made some frags of my red Zoa's

And a quick snap if my red Acan colony IMG_20180902_183620.jpg Sorry for all the blue

Finally home after some time away, been busy with life and all. Snapped a few pics tonight. Starting to get my hair algae under control. Replaced the DI resin in my RODI so it should be almost fully cleared soon.

Plans for the future is to add a second Hydra 26 light. In the process of building the dual fixture mounts and will have it up hopefully by month end. Dosing is basically dialed in and keeping things stable. I'm absolutely loving the tank!

IMG_20180928_114441.jpg Got around to installing my STC controller finally so it runs my cooling fans and heaters at the same time which is nice. Had previous STC controllers which only did either or. Set the temp to 25 with 0.5 hysteresis. So far so good. Everything does what it's supposed to and the tank is now sitting stable temperature wise

I hijacked my sisters DSLR camera to start taking some better photos and here are the results. Still a noob at this photography deal but I'm chuffed anyways.

Here is a link to the article that helped me a lot to get the camera set right in case anyone else was interested:

Anyways here are some of the photos that I managed to take

And I finally got the stand cladded with magnetic mount doors

The second hydra light has finally been added! Did this last week but haven't gotten around to posting.

Added frags from @Joshua1 which are doing great and started using gfo to help with some algae control.

The spread is much better in the tank

Got some frags from @Hails as well which are gonna be great!

Didn't think I would have been this far by this time of the year when I started in January! Can't wait to compare next year this time!

Redid my DIY jump net and I am finally happy with the overall setup now:1:

    IMG_20181218_140817.jpg IMG_20181218_162459.jpg IMG_20181218_162449.jpg

Much cheaper than other commercially available options and doesn't look to bad I think!

    Hey there

Basically just glued some electrical pvc conduit to the right size and then cable tied some mesh which I bought at Jack's Paint. Painted the pvc with Rustoleum black. Sticks great

Went up to Vilankulos for the first time in a long time and had to leave the tank in the care of my mother. Was very nerve wracking but came back to essentially what I left with so all is well!!

Lost my green Monti to nudibranchs and a Lobo, but these were already problem children before I left.

My one red acan colony seems a bit peeved but hopefully they perk up in a bit.

SPS are all looking better than ever and the tank is now clean again!

Will post the pictures from the snorkelling when I get a chance to.

    Happy new year to everyone!
