Some of you know that I have a RSM 250, with major mods, including two sumps, overflow ordered from the US. It is a reef tank with live rock and arogonite sustrate.
Three weeks ago, I decided to buy a new shallow reef tank (built by @Goby) and transfer all my life stock, including my water to the new tank, the only thing I purchased new was my substrate, that was seeded with about 25% of my RSM substrate.

Attached you will find pics of my new shallow reef and my RSM in it's new location, with ROCK added today (the rock isn't live, and my intention was to do it this way). I used my RSM substrate and decided to remove my DSB as it wasn't large enough for the tank, even though it was deep enough.

I will keep adding pics as my RSM grows, and I will add fish in about 8 weeks, or when the tank is mature enough.
    Till then......
    Carlos

    Howdy,
Had one made at exotic aquariums in Boksburg, they are one of the sponsors, it only has two compartments one for my return pump and the one for my protein skimmer, removed the standard protein skimmer as it was not that great.

Ok a little update, RSM is cycling well, have some brown cyano growing. Placed my Turboflator 3000 back into my RSM sump as the water level in my shallow reef sump was too high and my skimmate was really wet. I am therefore looking for fairy new GOOD skimmer rated for up 1000 to 1500l, as my bubble blaster 1000 will not be 100% perfect and I am prepared to pay up to R4000. Anyone out there that can help, really desperate!
    PM me

After having a stressful weekend on deciding what to do, I bought a Skimz 201 internal skimmer, been producing great skimate after five minutes. To all those that where patient with me, I THANK YOU!

Thanks @student, having a little issue with red cyano at the mo, but seems to be dying back since I replaced my skimmer.

I am using it too, I think the Cyano happened when I moved all my LS to my new tank, had a bit of a mini cycle, NO3 climbed to 10ppm, and PO4 went up to 0.64ppm, but down to levels they were before of 1ppm and 0.08ppm respectively. My RSM is having a huge algal bloom because of the cycling, going to try use the aquaria stone and super nitrifying bacteria in this tank, no fish as yet.

    Great tanks ! :)
What test kits are you using for nitrates & phosphates. I use salifert but find them difficult to match test colours to the key colours. Need something more accurate !

I use the red sea max titration kits for nitrates, phosphates, calcium, Alk and magnesium. I haven't tested ammonia and nitrites for over a year. Salifert for Iodine, I use tropic marine for Ph.

Ok some new tank pics, @Goby wanted some FTS, so here you are, I have a terrible 'muk en druk' camera with a maximum rating of 5mega pixels. Can't afford a decent one as all my money goes to my hobby:p.
