Hi everyone would like to share my DIY doser that costed me R50.

This is not the final product, but all that's left to do it put into a project box. I will be hooking 3 of these up to my arduino controller I'm busy with.

    Things you need:

    1) Kids bubble gun
    2) 10k potentiometer
    3) project box
4)pcb or mini breadboard. ( you don't really need this. You can do all the wiring within the box.
    5)wiring
    6) dc power supply. I used an old Nokia charger.

So I bought this bubble gun some time back for my son and as with all 2 year olds, the toy didn't last long. I decided to recycle it. The gun has a peristaltic pump in it. You simply disassemble the gun, remove the pump and wire it up with the pot in series so it works as a rheostat. Be sure to test the voltage from the power supply. Most times they throw out a higher voltage than what it says. I always do this after I burned an arduino mega. The power supply said 9v but was pushing out 15v.

This pump will work from as less as 1.5v depending on the amount you are dosing over the selected time period. 5v is actually overkill.

The pics will explain most of it. But feel free to ask any questions.

Some spare leds and a speaker to decorate your doser... If you really want to :)

And the end result being tested. I used a baby bottle to measure the rate and which the fluid drips.

Enjoy!! A DIY doser that costed me about 50 bucks.

Any probes won't be connected to this directly. It will connect to my arduino and from there the arduino will kick the pump on/off when needed. Same as temp. The probe connects to the arduino and not directly to the heater.

Do not want to alarm you,but a big accident just happened in your lounge. 4 cars involved resulting in turnovers and chaos.

    Anyway, nice idea.

I used it once for dosing mg, just kept it hooked on my sump. It worked well. but I took it off now, because it still had to be done manually. So I have started building a Jarduino controller.. once its complete with the LEDs ill need to incorporate this into it.

I think Homemark and those places sell it (one or the other).

Nice idea dude, and well done. Does your dozer now also make funny sounds and play tunez when you doze? :p

This is definately ONE way to stop the kid driving me up the walls with the bubbles and tune night after night after night after night after night........
