    Hi all,

I am planing to put up a 1000x1000x650 corner tank.

I hope to bounce some ideas around. I have had several marine tanks before all fish though.

I would like to have a corral tank this time around.

I have read a lot about scrubbers and it looks like they are the way to go. I just wonder about what else I need in the sump.

I was thinking that I would need a lot of light in the lid and if I build the tank if it would not be worth my while to make the lid bigger to accommodate the scrubber on top off the lights. so the light can shine from underneath.

Well that is it for now I am sure there will be lots more as the project progress.

    Thanks.

Scrubber above lights? shocking adventures in the making....
Rather use reflectors to utilize the light down.

Put scrubber above sump. Have skimmer and DSB and cheato and heaters and.... all of it in your sump

Also Corner tank, that size? how will you reach the back corner? Go ahead and measure your arm length, armpit to fingertips. Anything heavy you will not get to. Unless you get your diving equiptment out.

    And hello and welcome

    update

Thanks Riaan I do not want to choke each time I touch my tank so the algae stripper will go in the sump. What is a cheato? I was thinking of building a frame of pvc to put stuff on so there should not be many heavy things in the tank I hope like I said never did this before so there can be lots of supprices. You must speak to FransSny.
His corner unit is basically this design. Almost same dimensions maybe as well. Did you think about the sump layout.

You should have a couple of kilogram live rock in the tank. 20 to 30 or even more.
thin substrate, about 2-3cm. If you got the cash, go for aragonite. Else go for playsand (Reggies or Garden Center) Just wash it properly.

Please read more, and learn. There is a lot of information on MASA.

Hello and welcome. Chaeto is a macroalga which guys keep in the sump under lighting to reduce nutrients in the tank. A form of ATS
