Hi guys I just noticed what looks like a zit on my clown, all white with and what looks like it is faded around where the "pimple" is protruding. It doesn’t look like lymphocystis or at least not what I’ve seen on other fish before.

Unfortunately I don’t have a pic but will try and get one quick.

Anyone know what it could be?

@Keanan, how long have you had the fish? What have you added to the tank recently?

@williet, not that I've noticed, he just hangs out with his partner at the torch coral swimming though it?

@Nemos Janitor, Ive had him and his partner for about a year and a half now, give or take a few months. My most recent addition is a leopard wrasse that I added last Saturday.

Just checked up on the little guy and the "pimple" seems to be going down and now looks like a bump?
@Nemos Janitor, yip a few zoa frags about 2 weeks back and as well as 2 small pieces of bio rock that was out of water for a couple of weeks.

We need a better PIC but my first thoughts are that is is some sort of anchor worm. A cleaner wrasse should sort it out. These sort of parasites are commonly introduced to aquariums via coral and LR. Always advisable to QT corals and at least dip them before introduction to the DT.

Keep an eye out on the other fish for minuit white looking ribbons appearing on the body.

I was also thinking along that lines but was not sure because it looked like a pimple and thought if it was a worm I would of noticed that.

Will go monitor them now, I always eye out the cleaner wrasses but always hear that they don’t take to prepared foods so easily?

Will try for a better pic now.

Some parasites/worms lay the "eggs" under the skin then fall off. Others feed off the host and fall off to multiply.

Keep an eye on the clown. Watch out for any redness around the area of the " pimple". Also keep an eye on the fishes appetite.

Did the clown not injured itself against some rock. While you maybe placed the corals you could have scratched the clown.

My one clown that went to @Gesiggie got scratched during the move against a rock. Almost same place that she got hooked and looked the same. The clown did pull through, but still got a slight scar mark.

Be careful for secondary bacterial infection.

Hmm ok I will monitor them closely, he was eating like normal whole day but will see tomorrow how he is. Just checked before lights went off now and the bump seems to be going down but did not see any redness.

It might be possible @RiaanP but he tends to stay far away from anything other than food that goes into the tank.

Hoping that its nothing major and will keep an eye on him for any infection.

Just an update... the little guy seems fine, swimming around and eating.
The pimple now seems to be gone and left a white patch behind.
All other fish seems fine as well, no marks or anything.
