My Catch- Please ID

    Hi friends

    Some of my catch I caught today, please can you ID.


    Butterfly ?

    Naso ? ( although colours not shown 100%)

    And a SEMI -:yeahdude:

    Also caught 2 of what I thing are Threadfins butterflies, 1x leaf wrasse about 10mm long and 2x what I think are cigar wrasse? about 30mm.

    So what you think? not too bad?

    nice semi dude. I don't think that is a naso at all. Looks like a pale bristletooth to me. Nice though. Where did you go?

    3rd are you sure it is a semi, pos a old woman angelfish.

    2nd, looks like a convict with no stripes. Hay a new species.:p

    I dont know, but the fish in the second pic (suspect naso) has little orangish dots on the head area, FYI

    Chill dude. Only trying to help. My bristle tooth has orange spots on its face. Its not a naso

    # actually looks like a Brown surgeon (dusky Surgeon) Acanthurus nigrofuscus

    The 2nd pic does look like a bristletooth to me, but the colouring on the lips is different, not sure.

    1) some butterfly, not sure

    2)
    brown surgeon - acanthuras nigrofuscus
    double check this one, the spot above the tail and orange dots around the mouth and dark lips, light to dark dorsal fin and the colour above the eye make me think its a brown tang, maybe a juv or he might be in shock.

    3)
    semi juv - pomacanthus semicirculatus
    i think its a semi as its got 3 white stipes and the old women doesnt

    It is the old woman in the last pic. I had an id on it some months ago and there was heated discussions on Sark regarding the difference.

    nope, semi has 3 white lines, as above. old woman doesnt have ne white lines.
