my build so far

    Hey guys
    Here is my tank so far 1m x 500w x 540h 10mm base and 8mm else where
    Going to finish siliconing tomorrow then start stand and cabinet next week

    Lol yup box is there to stop sides from falling over.

    My tank is 225 / 275 litres can't remember but how much liverock or baserock should I get ?

    Looks good! Are you going to add a cover over the overflow?

    @JS I am going to put a pvc mesh above overflow then on top of that a piece of glass.
    I've got black vinyl that will be using as a background to hide all plumbing and cables

    Cool, yeah cause when the stuff starts encrusting etc inside the overflow it can look ugly...

    Just a bit of advise, if that was my tank i wouldbrace it top and bottom. Youknow for JustIn :p

    I'm still going to put braces in still.

    Does anyone here have plans for a sump.
    I'm not going the dsb way

    You need to put triangular support brackets on the stand. Else when you clean the tank woith you magnet, everything will sway back and forth.

    How many leds will I need for my tank size? Was thinking 30 white and 30 blue

    That seems a bit too much...
    If you use cree 3w leds, you will be able to keep sps under 20 white, 10 blue & 10 royal blue.
    What is your coral stocking plans? Sps, lps or softies?
