Got this beauty about 2 and a half weeks ago.
Bought her with the rock she was attached to, she had expensive taste, was a 2kg+ rock;) Didnt move for the first 2 days and then on the third night moved underneath the rock ledge and hasnt moved since- praise the Lord!!. Her foot is attached under the ledge but the body stretches and opens up out into the open during the day and some nights, most nights she contracts underneath the ledge to come out in her glory first thing in the morning.

Heres the problem though, my damn clown fish refuses to host the anemone!
Its been two and a half weeks now and still nothing, he's definately attracted to it but doesnt know what to do with the attraction. I had to fence off a goniopora to stop him hosting that and hopefully encourage him into the nennie but no! He swims right in to eat the nennies waste when it excretes it but that the closest he's got..

    Any suggestions??

You must realise that not all clowns host and some host in the wierdest things.. It has also ONLY been 2 weeks, give it some time and he may host in it, then again he may never. There is not much you can really do about it.

And Simms, you suck, send me my RBTA :1:

Agree with Muz, they dont always host and if they have found something to host in already its going to be tough to get them to move...the fact that the its attracted to the anem and is showing some sort of interest is a positive sign though.

I have had my RBTA for 7 months and my clowns have never hosted in it, they prefer the Pin Cushion :p

If your clown is intersted in your goniopora you will have to remove it to get him to look at something else otherwise he will eventually kill the goniopora

Ya I know ,ive managed to fence the goni off and the clown hasnt gone near it for over a week now. He only played in it for a couple of days before I stopped him. Interestingly, he only started hosting the goni once the nennie was introduced!

Im not 100s hey, other guys might have a better idea of the average price but from my experience, Ive seen them advertised from R250 to R1200 and mid imbetween.. also depends on size obviously.. the true rbta's are very rare. Can get normal bta's for around R300 I think. .. Got this one for around R450 hey....

well thats not too encouraging;) flip clowns can be stupid hey!?

I'm going to sound like a real noob here, but, what is the difference between a normal BTA and a true RBTA?

A BTA is a Bubble Tip Anemone...a RBTA is a Red/Rose Bubble Tip Anemone...its just the colour...a BTA could refer to a green or a red variety. I think thats answered your question? :)
