My 15 year old diamond reef

    Some picks on the growth and change in the last year...

    April 2010 just moved the tank from a mates house in roodepoort where it was standing for 3jr without any maintenance...one can see all the green grass that took over due to no controle..

    This is just after the move in april 2011 this year exactly one year since i took charge of the tank again...inbetween pics got lost due to pc crash

    here some new aditions to the system sps coral frags from @Hermanus.. added 3 weeks ago pics taken same day..

    some of these sps's has already shown growth all the glue is over grown and some new branching and tips ....will post pics after they been in for a month..

    Thanx Seabass...Doin verry well...they all have coverd the areas where the glue is that holds them to the rocks and some new branches and points ...some 5mm growth at place's sand already atached to the rocks and the same with the monties...i must say its unexpected...i didnt know what to expect when i first orderd them...

    Thanks @Seabass...that is a heliopora witch I got a year ago...got a few pce of dead coral from a lfs to put down for my shrooms to populate on and this one started to revive ...it’s been quite a thrill seeing it grow over the past few months it almost changes shape every month it’s amazing...look at the first pics in the first tread pics of april and then today’s...

    Thank you...apparently they are quite hardy...but yes I think my tank is quite healthy and the sps growth in it is proof even the frags I added a few weeks ago is showing remarkable growth with some new shoots 1cm long already...

    What lighting are you using? that rock covered in mushrooms looks awesome:thumbup:.

    I had it 5 days but from day one it would't open fully...must have bought a clam on it's way out...did go back to the lfs but they say sorry no livestock guaranty...i'm quite pikjlnf;qwl ..of...

    I changed to t5's in April but the shrooms did better under the t8's before but i wanted to ad more sps corals so I upgraded to the t5's...

    Now running 2x t5 fittings with one t8

    x2 39w Marine Glo from Hagen (actinic blue)
    x2 39w Live-Glo from Hagen (6700k full spectrum)
    1x 30w Coralstar from sylvania...
