Hi, my mushrooms are falling off my live rock! What will cause this? Do mushrooms like water flow?

A VERY WARM WELCOME to MASA, Shane Marine! Awesome to have you on-board! Great that you have found MASA, and joined us!

As everyone said - please introduce yourself in the "New Members" forum.

W.r.t the corallimorph mushrooms (I can only presume you are talking about corralimorph or rhodactis mushrooms, right?) issue. They are family of anemone's (between anemone's and corals - therefor the "corallimorph" naming). And as such, if they are not happy with anything where they are located - the move.

This means, it can be any of the following:
    - too little lighting
    - too much lighting
    - too much water flow
    - something close to them that's irritating them
    - etc.

Please elaborate on your tank - how old is your tank? what power-heads do you have in your tank, and how are they positioned (what strength are they?) how much and what type of lighting do you have in your tank?
How old/new is the rock with corallimorph mushrooms?
Where did the rock come from? A tank with high water flow, or low water flow?
Did it come from a tank with high lighting, or low lighting?

Sorry about the million questions - but, this is the only way that we can determine what the issue and cause might be.

Hope you enjoy your stay with us! Please don't be a stranger now, you hear!
