Howzit, i checked all the water parameters 2 weeks ago, and all was fine.

major stuff, my temp is 25 degrees. Salinity is 1.026.

I did a big water change about 2 weeks ago, replacing 30% of the water. But still not good. some are opening, but i dont know if my hermits are walking over it permanently, which can also be a cause.

I would say check lighting, is it a old bulb ?
are the affected mushrooms not been shaded by other corals or beeing stung by somthing else ?

To be honest with you, i have my buyo for more than a year, i did a light mod, adding another 24W to the system, but never replaced the original globes.

do you think it can be that ?

I would say so, when ever i find pale mushrooms its light related , and usuly under ledges .

if you dont have enough actinic your greens start fading.

If you have : too much lighting the corrals nornaly go very brown, as the get more colour to protect there cells from burning like our skin darkens into a tan to protect ours.

P.s was it a boyu marine tank to start with ?

If not , the freshwater light was probebly a low kelvin to start with , and now burnt even lower.
If it was marine, it could just be time to change it.

well, i can say, my pulsing xenia and gsp (green star polyps), are growing like bossies. but i also can say, i had a toby in the system which loved to eat softies, but i removed him ages ago. another factor, i had a power surge recently, and the tank got very hot, because my fans flew, and the top cover melted, but the zoa's was closed before that even. So i dont think it is related to the power surge.

ok, buyo 1.0.1 - Buyo are a chinese make of a plug and play tank. I bought mine second hand more than 1 year ago. And i built the system up, getting more corals, live rock, fish you name it.

I have the biggest buyo (TL550), which is designed for marine only.

so, to conclude, you say, replace the bulbs ?

I find it odd that the mushrooms dont move if they are getting too little light. Mine is shaded by a frogspawn and they move around to the higher light areas, dropping off little ones along the way.

If you replace the globes, let me know where you got them from. I need to get some24W globes as well.

Thanks for the 101, but i had no idea if you put all info down, i was trying to be thourgh for you.
    Boyu TL550 is marine
    Boyu TL550 B is freshwater.

The mushrooms will move faster if there is a perminent irritation like incorect waterflow on him.

The mushrooms dont move that easaly , as i say i find them under my ledges.

    Try the light.

I would check your water, it might be something you cant test for. I've been going through some recent threads and this is what I found:

(This is in no particular order)

You got a bubble tip anemone and it died a few days later
You got a clam and it also died a few days later
You have been losing cleaner shrimp
Your hermits are also getting killed by something

Have you checked your RO water, what salt are you using, are you dosing anything to the tank?

I like the way you go to history for the info ( very clever )

No pro blem with fish, could there not be some risidual copper in the system from before he bought it.

When the P.H drops the copper could be released out of the silicon , rocks ect.
As its just corals and inverts mentioned

Fish are also more resilient to poor water conditions.

Hi Manic, sorry for only replying now.

Well, the clam died because my toby and clowns got into it.
The bubble tip, the toby also did a good job at that one. After that, i removed the toby from the system.

The hermits are under control, the biggest one thought he was the ruler, but he is now all calmed down.

I moved to pta, and my ex looked after the system. mmm, well, she didnt loved the hobby, but it is now under my control again :)

    pm me please.
