    Hi ladies and gents.

Been having withdraw symptoms since I sold my tank 2 months ago and I'm planning to remedy it with new, smaller tank.
Alot smaller then my previous but water changes will be alot more practical.

    Ok here's the specs:

    650mm x 500mm x 450mm Display tank
10mm glass, Black Silicone, rimless, black backing, with corner overflow.

    650mm x 400mm x 300mm Sump

    650mm x 500mm x 900mm stand (metal)

    Hardware

    Skimmer: Skimz 161
    Chiller: Hailea Aqua Medic HL-1200CB
    Kalkstirrer: Aqua Medic KS 1000 with a SP3000 Auto-top-up
    Fluidised reactor: Skimz FM100
Varies seio and sunsun pumps for flow. Some might be too powerfull though.

    Lighting

I want to go LED with this one. Looking at a 54w Unit.

    Filtration

Wrestling between np pellets and good ol' vodka & bacteria.
My LPS and some of my softies didn't do too well with the np pellets.

    Substrate

Don't feel like digging out see sand once I can afford aragonite, so I might go bear bottom for a while.

    Livestock?

Think mostly LPS and some sticks. Love monti's but they grow like mad and take too much space.
I'll need to be picky with my fish. Maybe a pair of not-so-common-clowns?
Would love a bi-colour blenny but my last one jumped clear over the bracing.
(rimless would be an express to fish heaven) or can I prevent it somehow?

    Anyways... Here's some pics.
Still need to connect all the plumbing. Just finished cleaning the seio and sun-suns.

Haven't seen my skimmer for a while. It seems bigger then I remember.

I still like the idea of a refugium.
Any of the guys running np pellets and macro algae ? Marco is there more for the critters then anything else.

Got my LED unit yesterday ! :slayer:

I was expecting a more narrow beam of light. Pleasantly surprised.
    And damn they're bright!

Initial idea was to suspend. I'm still drawing the frame to suspend it from. Will post it as soon as I'm finished.

The money pit has opened its' maw.
My skimz161's impeller became noisey and broke. A replacement is ridiculously expensive. (a few rand short of R1k).
Exact skimmer pump is unavailible. Replacement pump is the price of a new skimmer.
I'm scared that the pump might be damaged and the impeller is a waste of money.:death:

Yeah, dont waste money on impeller....just had a noisy pump, impeller was damaged, got new one, pump still noisy as the intrnal chamber has scratches on it from damaged impeller.

Cant you modify a OTP pump to work?
