I would like to find out what is the best possible way to move my contents from my old tank to my new.... Eg Dsb and live sand, water, corals, livestock etc etc

The new tank has fresh saltwater, been running for a week, pieces of live rock added with life, added aquaria bacteria.

Q: when I add Dsb and live sand will it go into a mini cycle etc

you can move everything across, except the DSB, that will "die" the minute you take it apart

move everything and add bacteria as directed, i know stability has a 7 day cycle for new/moved tanks

make sure water temp and salinity are right, then acclimate your stock across

    Nope, not entirely true.
I done that, moved a DSB from one sump to another, and it survived.
    But there are a trick.

Scoop out the top 50mm of sand into separate container.
Then middle 50mm into second container.
Then bottom last 50mm can be moved over. Then replace the middle layer and lastly the top layer.

Also work out the size difference between the 2 chambers. L*H*W first sump deducted from L*H*W second sump would give you the volume of extra sand needed. Just worked that into the layers as you replace them. I placed my new sand on the one side.

Proof. See the layers it created.

And just let the sump settle for a few hours. Then siphon all the excess settlement on top of the sand.

The left part is the old DSB. On the right the sand at the bottom and top is the new sand added. The stickers is the 150mm markers.
I run the sump on its own for a day. The return pump goes to first chamber.
