Could some of the techno guys please help out here.

I am surely no guru at this/

Alida bought me a "4TECH X7"PC Mouse some time ago. It has a crapload full of buttons. I suppose it is more directed towards the gaming guys.

My problem: I use the mouse wheel quite a lot to "scroll" up or down a page, especially on my spreadsheet work pages.

When I use the mouse wheel either up or down, the page tend to "jump" and most of the times it goes up and down instead of just down. Same happens when I try to zoom into a photo.

It used to work fine, then the pc went off some time ago. I did some settings (F.... knows what I did) and it came right, just to bomb out some days later again.

It is at this stage very frustrating and is gonna hit a wall soon.

I did go onto the settings page of the "Oscar Editor" , set it to "Microsoft standard wheel" , but it still jumps.

Please advise...... and No, I am not getting another as I know it must be some "wheel" setting

    Hi Sean,

There should be some way of clicking the mouse weel forward or backwards.
Just try pushing the weel forward, I had the same problem.

The mouse wheel can operate in two modes.

I will google your specific mouse and see if I can find something.

Did some web crawling and allot of people experience this problem.
There is no clear answer, but allot of people said that blowing into the mouse wheel fixed the problem. Dirt get trapped under the wheel, so this might work.

Nope, worked for 5 minutes, desided to open and clean it. Work 100 percent, but 25minutes later trying to close it (those shoelace eyes people with their @#* small hands). Got fed up and decided to dance on it with all I had. Now I am browsing on my cell, waiting for the shops to open for a standard mouse.

    Techno challenged?
Did your mouse came with its own CD? Did you install specific drivers for it?
Its a gaming mouse. Or do a search for its drivers.
Should have included Software - SMART-x7 Driver

Lol. The mouse worked for months. The drivers was installed and re installed. It was definitely the mouse wheel that was faulty. At least it is resting now.......lol
