    Hi guys

I went on the search for a moonlight yesterday and came up with a lot of DIY stuff. My question is with a moonlight is the light supposed to be within a certain brightness level or how does it work?
I saw a moonlight that they made out of a 15cm neon blue computer tube and its not looking to bad.
Here is the link to that.
    OZ REEF - Neon Moonlight

    thanks

Paul, for DIY, go to Communica, next to the highway close to Rooihuiskraal.

They got all sorts of LEDs from low voltage to high. From almost glowing to blindness.

To build a lighting unit to replace the T5 is just to expensive, but for moonlights you need maybe one LED for every 30cm tank. And it will be a nice DIY job.

    Moonlight

    Hi

Moonlight is more aesthetic than absolutely needed.

It help you to see at night but any benefit to the corals are doubtful, the fish tend to hide more if you have a moonlight on - compared to a torch with red cellophane.

But if you work shifts (as you do) good night nights help so you do not disturb the fish AND corals by switching the lights on at odd times.
