mixing aragonite

    hi

    can one have both black aragonite and the normal suger fine aragonite in the same tank?
    i mean have a little black hera and there?

    you can mix the two but the chabces of them staying separate is very slim.

    Yup... The finer grain sand will sink to the bottom after a while.

    what will happen if i just put a border of black around the entire tank

    Could work, but the finer grain will always sink to the bottom.

    Malooda, its not going to stay the way you place it. Over time the two will mix.
    From what I've seen, the salt and pepper look of mixing the two isnt that great. Save the black for a rad little pico/nano or something :)

    Obviously thats personal preference tho. If you like the look of them mixed then go for it. But they definitly will mix over time

    It starts to look tatty after a while.... Will look even worse if you dont have a lot of it.... Primarily look will look far better than bits of black splattered all over the place? Why not consider putting it in your sump? Thats what my BF did in our tank, we used about 1L of it in the sump...
