Mind the GSP...

    I just found my variegated topshell doing wild gyrations in my GSP so decided to take him out and got viciously stung on my fingertips... Watch out for those GSP guys... Not as friendly as they look...

    First time ive heard of GSP stingina human. As far as i was aware, GSP lack stinging cells.
    Perhaps you unlucky enough to have an allergic reaction to them.

    ive handled many GSP's and a number of varieties but never been stung, although i have tough farmers hands. just to confirm GSP is green star pollops? could u perhaps give us a pic of yours?

    yes, Green Star Polyps... Check my tank thread for an old pic and yes, they stung me through tough farmer hands and the topshell was not too happy either... He has burn marks all over his foot today...

    Very weird, they not suppose to have "stinging cells", simply grow over stuff to kill them.

    Could it be a chemical excretion?

    whatever it was it hurt like hell and my topshell has black marks all over his foot...

    Forgot to update this... The topshell died three days after his sojourn into the GSP...
