Hi I have notice my water has started to turn milky and am not sure why.

I have not been doing anything recently exept vodka as usual.

it started on the glass as a sort of slimy film but when I cleend the glass the water was christal clear behind it but now it looks as though this milkynes has moved into the water columb aswell and im not sure what to do about it.

I thaught it might be some sort of bacterial bloom so cut back on the vodka dosing but it has just got worse.

my water turned white at one stage...turned out that is was my seagel. I tried to put the stuff in a DIY reactor. Discovered that seagel doesnt like friction..at all. lol. It was disintegrating in the reactor

would be my guess too, although perhaps its something precipitating out the water collumn, although that almost always sinks?

My water also went milky...I then used seachem clarity and it made my tank even more milky for about 2 hours and then it was crystal clear.....make sure you are using a filter sponge with this product to collect all the waste.....and it is reef safe;)

How much vodka are you dosing? Overdosing could cause a bacterial bloom

What are your magnesium readings? Low magnesium could cause calcium to fall out of solution
