    Hi All

I added a Midas Blenny to my DT yesterday. It immediately swam behind the rock to never be seen again. I have looked everywhere for it but can't seem to find it. Should I be worried or will it come out in its own time. I'm worried about feeding.

    Thanks
    Paul

Give it time, it should come out when it feels settled

They are jumpers. Check around on the floor if your aquarium is open top. Else as David says.

Thanks guys. How high can they actually jump? I have about 15cm they would have to clear.

I don't think that there is one reefer on MASA that has not lost one to carpet surfing. Lovely fish with great character though.

So what's the answer here, cover the opening on the tank?

Its best to use bird netting or similar and create a frame staple it on the frame and put over the tank. The net mesh should be of the clear type with say around a 1cm square spacing.

This ought to help prevent tile / carpet surfing.

They can clear that with ease.

Blennies needs less that 15cm water to be able to clear more than a meter in the air. Saw that with my own eyes in a rock pool.
