    6.5 pH Buffer

Sets Freshwater at a pH of 6.5

    Use for:
    • Tap Water
    • Tank Water
    • Change Water

    Ingredients

Contains a proprietary blend of four sodium and potassium salts.

    Use with:

Angelfish, Clown, Loach, Discus, and Rasboras Fish.

    Directions

The primary functions of pH Buffers are to resist pH-Drop (acidification), and to hold the pH at a given target pH.

To lower the pH and hold it at 6.5:

    Add 1 scoopful (5 grams) of this buffer / 10 Gal. (37.8 L).

To raise the pH and hold it at 6.5:

First adjust pH to 6.5 with an increaser (MICROBE-LIFT/pH Increase) and then add 1 scoopful (5 grams) of this buffer/10 Gal. (37.8 L). Check your pH regularly and add Buffer when needed.

Note: Pre-dissolve buffer in a small amount of bottled or dechlorinated tap water and introduce to your aquarium.

    * A scoop is enclosed for your convenience.

    7.0 pH Buffer

Sets Freshwater at a pH of 7.0

    Use for:
    • Tap Water
    • Tank Water
    • Change Water

    Ingredients

Contains a proprietary blend of four sodium and potassium salts.

    Use with:

Algae eaters, Silver Dollars, most Tetras, most Loaches, and Plecostomus fish.

    Directions

The primary functions of pH Buffers are to resist pH-Drop (acidification), and to hold the pH at a given target pH.

To lower the pH and hold it at 7.0:

    Add 1 scoopful (5 grams) of this buffer / 10 Gal. (37.8 L).

To raise the pH and hold it at 7.0:

First adjust pH to 7.0 with an increaser (MICROBE-LIFT/pH Increase) and then add 1 scoopful (5 grams) of this buffer/10 Gal. (37.8 L). Check your pH regularly and add Buffer when needed.

Note: Pre-dissolve buffer in a small amount of bottled or dechlorinated tap water and introduce to your aquarium.

    8.5 pH Buffer

African Cichlids Sets Freshwater at a pH of 8.5

    Use for:
    • Tap Water
    • Tank Water
    • Change Water
    Suggestions

Particularly for African Cichlids, make frequent partial water changes (20%- 40% every 2-3 weeks) and readjust pH as necessary.

    RIFT LAKES pH READINGS:

    Lake pH Range Avg. pH
    Victoria 8.0-8.8 8.40
    Malawi 8.5-8.6 8.55
    Tanganyika* 8.6-9.1 8.86

    * If desired, double the usage of the buffer per 30 gallons to achieve a slightly higher pH target for Tanganyika species.

    Ingredients

Contains a proprietary blend of four sodium and bicarbonate salts, together with essential trace elements which occur naturally in the African "Rift Lakes" Cichlid-waters of Lake Malawi, Victoria and Tanganyika.

    Directions

The primary functions of pH Buffers are to resist pH-Drop (acidification), and to hold the pH at a given target pH and to increase carbonate hardness. This buffer also helps to reestablish a target pH level after making partial water changes with change water under target pH.

To RAISE a low pH and HOLD it at about 8.5:Add 1 level scoop (5 grams) of this buffer / 30 Gal. (113.5 L).

To LOWER a high pH and HOLD it at about 8.5:First adjust pH to 8.5 with a decreaser (MICROBE-LIFT/pH Decrease) and then add about ½ scoop (2.5 grams) of this buffer/30 Gal. (113.5 L).

Note: Pre-dissolve buffer in a small amount of bottled or dechlorinated tap water and introduce to your aquarium.

    * A scoop is enclosed for your convenience.
