Hey guys! I just wanted to know if globe A is 14k will any other globe of 14K be the same?

I have a 14K globe which is bluish in colour but I need another 2 more. Will a reeftek or another brand give the same colour or do they differ the way a reeftek T5 and ATI differ? I heard that you dont get crap MH and they are pretty much all the same.
    Thanks guys

That's a lie. You do get crap MH globes. Best advise I can give you is to get blv 20000k MH globes. They are not as blue as the others, more like 14000k. Best globes I have used and they are cheap.

The 20k BLV's are good globes, been running them on my system for close on a year now and have been happy with them.

lol when he says they are cheap, what he means is they are like R500 each. :p

The BLV 20000K are brillliant. I bought a geisemann 14500K bulb and it was extremely yellow so the colours vary from brand to brand

Sanjay Joshi has some good info. color is also dependent on the ballast being used.

Must agree here,I have just returned my newly purchased 14500K Giessemans as I was pretty surprised to find how yellow they were once I turned them on.
I wanted to replace my Reeflux 12 000K bulbs which give a nice blue/white light but all I got was lots of light that was yellow in color so yes different manufacturers seem to have different colors in my experience.
I will now order my Reeflux again from the USA

Thanks guys! I have 1 x14k which is such an awesome light blue and a 10k which is just white.

I was thinking if I cant get the same 14k I'll just get BLV 20k's.. I emailed lamphouse last night. Any other places that sell them cheap?

I agree that the BLV 20k's are awesome. I saw mariusmeyers tank and I was shocked that they were 20k! It was a crisp bluish white, very beautiful!

I have decent growth of my sps... I dont have anything to compare it to, so I cant say whether you get better growth with a different bulb.

The colour can depend on type ballast to, magnetic or electronic.

agree, u got to look at flow, nutrients, parameters, lighting all these play a role in the health, growth and colour of your sps. ;)

I've got about 320 W of light from T5's for a 1 x 1 metre cube and the light is plenty for SPS corals
