This is my new tank that i'm working on. This is my second marine fish tank, which was a small 3 foot. I decided to upgrade a bit to a 700L tank.

The dimentions of the display tank are: 202cm x 52cm x 60 cm.

    The dimentions of the sump are: 90 cm x 30cm x 30cm.

I am planning on making the sump bigger one day soon.

In the sump I am planning on putting in a DSB (48cm x 30cm x 20 cm), a refugium and a skimmer. The skimmer that I am using is a Reef Octopus xs 160 (rated for 900L). The return pump I have is rated 1500L/H, which is a bit small but i have quite a restricting overflow box. Will see how it goes and get a bigger one if needed. I have been considering using a canister filter with Chemi-pure and NitratR.

So far, I have two flow pumps but I am planning to get more. I have a Sicce Voyager (3000L/H) and a Vortech MP10 (up to 6000L).

I have got 8 T5 80w tubes for lighting which will probably be housed in a hanging hood.

I will start with the things I have got so far and add things as needed.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks :)

    Trying to add pictures

Nice upgrade. Most guys will say go wider, if your is 52cm wide then I tend to agree, go 60cm wide.

My tank is 60cm deep, water at 58cm. But heck is it a pita to clean the bottom last 3-5cm, I say you can either go shallower to 55cm or make sure the sand in the DT is at least 5 - 8cm deep. This is something I would have done differently just to make cleaning a bit easier. Just a suggestion.

3 foot to 2m is some upgrade.

    My 2c only.

I have already got the tank so I can't change the width which is 52cm. I will definitely think about getting more sand so it will be easier to clean. I'm trying to upload pictures but I can't get them to upload. Don't think I'm doing it right.

Just thought of something, you might have long arms, then no need for extra sand.

Yeah its quiet now. My dad wants to make it out of stainless steel and not a hang on hood. Going to have to think of a plan with the evaporation into the hood and the temp.
