Must thank Liaquat for helping me thus far. His knowledge and help has been invaluable.
Im seriously still learning and looking forward to getting some good help and info on MASA.
My stocking of livestock commences now so wish me luck.

Seeing this is disheartening. Awesome setup nonetheless.

Hey Mash welcome to MASA my friend.

Glad the visa's have expired with your algae visitors :)

Looking forward to seeing this tank progress

Sorry I never saw the second pic. Bloody hell, what a change! Why did you get rid of the overflow?

First i felt it was too big. Secondly it hindered with my flow.(For me that is:))
My surface skimming aint that great at the mo.
But skimmer stills skims like crazy. So no ill effects thus far.
Dont you think it looks better?

Thanks DR.
That algae battle was hard work. Patience was 80% of the hard work!!:p
Its stocking time, will be taking it slow tho.

Definately looks better. But I was wondering if some fish might not go in there and end up in the sump.

A netting will be going around the top.
So that should sort that out.
I just saw my one hermit kill a snail and now the hermit is running around with snails shell.
Just damn EVIL!! Clearly a South African snail that just committed a hijacking!!

Yip slowly is the way to do it and allow your denitrifying bacteria populations to grow according to the bio load.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Can't be South African, otherwise there would have been 4 crabs to one snail....lol.

For sure DR. I know denitrifying bacteria converts nitrate to nitrogen gas and then out to atmosphere. But nitrifying bacteria converts ammonia to nitrite then to nitrate.
Wouldnt you regard that is being slightly more important?(SLightly hey:))
The last sentence regarding the stocking rate of livestock.

Hi Mashrie and welcome, that tank is looking very cool, would like to watch this tank mature.

Looks great :) Time to get some fish and corals in there.

Can we have some pics of the sump and equipment? especially the ATI BM :D
