    Do MASA members get discount at sponsor stores? Was just wondering as that would be really cool

    I think most stores will give you discount if you ask them

    I think most sponsors on MASA try and keep their prices as reasonable as possible.

    As for discount .....I think its a very controversial subject. I was discussing this with one of the sponsors the other day and my PERSONAL feeling is one doesn't walk into Pick and Pay , buy a tin of coffee and ask for discount at the till. You see the price on the rack and unfortunately that is the amount of money you have to part with.

    What I would however like to see is some kind of loyalty / points card maybe from the sponsors....redeemable for XYZ ;)

    very good point frans as far as pick and pay or checkers. but game ,hi fi corp, your local butcher, vwggie shop , caterer, mechanic, bank, tyre shop, or any other business who wants to stay competative does. it is a way of drawing customers. and pick and pay does have specials to draw in customers

    According to Cambridge Dictionary:

    "Specials" : a product that is being sold at a reduced price for a short period

    "Discount" : a reduction in the usual price

    I was at Pet Stop a while ago and the fish prices are very good, they got a large shipment in, so if any one wants a bargain then go check out what they have.

    I might be wrong but i think Dorry's Pets gives a 10% MASA discount.Or if you order online and is a masa member or something like that.

    But in anycase, if you spend big money at a time at any shop(sponser or not) im sure they will more than likely give you discount or a free-bee of sorts.

    Well I go into a sponsor shop, tell them Im from MASA and I get awesome service :thumbup: .. Sometimes low prices mean squat if the service aint good :)

    i agree with frans,
    also build up a relationship with your lfs and it will happen naturally, get to know them and they will get to know you, if you want a recomendation for one let me know :)

    I agree with the free gift thing.. One thing I can I stick with a petshop if they give good service and throw in a few freebies.. The few that I go to know almost everytime I walk out , I walk out with a freebee of some sort and there service is brilliant.. And if u take into account what good customers spend at ur shop every month it can be very hectic.. And I give them 100 percent for good service

    I agree service is the key, its nice to hear that some places do give discount to MASA members. It makes us feel special, haha

    I think if a person is a loyal client then you should be looked after don't you??.the LFS make money anyway but with great service and good discounts they will make much more in the long run

    The shops know who their good customers are. Naturally they are going to get better prices etc

    I personally never expect a discount, business is business, right?
    However, I alsways get offered one, there are some very kind people in the world!

    True to a degree, but it becomes very tricky to manage. There are only so many desision makers in a shop that can allow discount for example.. As soon as more people (Staff) are introduced then it becomes even more difficult.

    We have standardised our discount structure so all can benefit from this. This does not matter if you are at our shop every day, or visit just once a month. This approach seems to be working very well. I think all people want to be treated the same:thumbup:

    Some sponsors will have specials on products from time to time but the best is to shop around and decide where you want to buy from. Phone, ask for prices and then decide where you want to buy.
