A few more months, and the juvies will be on us again. You guys keen on a collecting meet, or even a fun comp, we all meet up and guys catch fish and their value in the LFS gives you points, have a braai, maybe we meet half way from Durban, or even in durbs. Whose keen?

As long as I have enough notice I'm sure I can join ... Don't know about winning the catching comp though .... The wife and myself are professional hermit crab and snail catchers:p and you have to be pretty good to beat us:razz: As for the braai .... Also need enough time to grow my veggies or will have to braai my nori ... But all in all super keen .....

    I'd be keen for that.

We just need to be sure to check lIghty and Andreas' catch boxes before they enter the water (just to make sure there are no "bought" specimens present) !

    LOL !

Should be a "no rules" collections. What is allowed should fall within the following cardinal guidelines:

    1) if possible, stealing from another person's buckjet is acceptable, smart in fact.
    2) attempting to drown the other diver if they have something you want is frowned apon, however it is justified should it be an exceptional specimen. (bonus points are however added if it happens to be a Slummies Reefer)
    3) extra points will be awarded if one uses a trained octopus for catching.
    4) fish must be alive at time of display. The suggestion is to blunt the tip of your speargun to minimise penetration of the fish. Alternatively, fit a less powerful band.
    5) explosives strength should be limited, so as not to kill fellow reefers within close proximity .
    6) ditto above for poisons
    7) only cordless jack hammers will be allowed, so as to minimise the use and noise of portable generators on the beach. Lets have some consideration for other users of the beach who do not share our passion.
    and finally
    8) a special category exists for those wishing to hire the Transnet Port Dredger for sucking difficult to reach specimens from their rock hiding places

Mmmmm.... I think those guideline are a bit heavy?

Would it be accepted if we use portable water pumps to drain tidal pools?

    2 Questions:

1)When, juvies only rarely show up November, you guys happy with mid November

2)Where, I don't want to have too drive far to give the Durban lady boys a hiding!!!

-Vetchies, big enough for all of us?
    -any other suggestions for location?
    -also where we can braai
-can someone take arm bands for Meks?
