    Hi all,

Being bored during the holidays and after a visit to Jaco Schoeman I decided to play with an old tank I had laying here at home.

    Tank Dimensions: 445 (L) x 315 (W) x 320 (D) (Inside Measurements)

Popped in at builders warehouse and had some pieces of glass cut. Later had to visit Robert Kukla to get some pieces of glass re-cut!

Purchased a sheet of glass, had builders cut out a section for the overflow, drilled a 20mm hole with a glass drill bit I purchased for the return flow (why do the LFS say this is so difficult). Also spray painted the back sheet for the sump in blue.

Not to assemble the pieces of glass for the sump. The water will flow over the overflow and in, down and up two chambers. Still looking for ideas for medium for these sections before I use bio-balls and ceramics...

I used some plumbing parts for the return pump.

Water then flows out and over a 150mm DSB with some live rock...(well that is the idea) before flowing into the final chamber that holds my heater and ATMAN 450l/h return pump.

Just gave it the last few lines of silicone and waiting for it to dry before testing for leaks.

    Updates to follow!

Just did the water test and she seems (mind the pun) to be holding!

Adding the heater now and continuing testing. If all okay by tomorrow, will change to RO water and add Salt.
