I found masstick to be a hit and mis.
My Mandarins took to it, but my tiny flame angel didn’t want to know anything.
In fact, only about 50% of my fish actually go for it.

Definitely seems to be a miss with the multibar angels, the last one didn’t seem interested in it either...but with my chalk bass it was the only thing that got them on to prepared foods...they wouldn’t eat at all up until that point.

Got in some new items during the week... an argi angel from Dane in Cape Town, that had been giving his other tank mates a hard time...as well as a flame prawn goby.

Also received one of the Kessil A350w I bought...not sure yet what I am going to do with the pair of them...probably be used over my new tank that’s in the works...oh I also bought a new tank during the week :p

Some random pics for December...tank turns a year old next week Saturday :)

Tested my parameters for the first time in months...I’ve got to be more vigilant that this type of thing :m85:

No3 - 25ppm :m15:
Po4 - 0.1ppm
Cal - 450ppm
Alk - 6.1dkh :m15:
Mag - 1380ppm
pH - 8.1
SG - 1.025

...and that’s why I can never keep sps...I just can’t seem to be able to get in a routine of dosing or doing water changes etc to keep things at a stable level...maybe it’s time to look into getting a doser :001_huh:

So besides the Argi I got in the most amazing little goby on Thursday...these guys are known to be rare so was really happy to get my hands on one.

Problem is when it arrived it was like 1cm in size...I actually thought I was sent an empty packet for the first couple of seconds.

He’s so small that I’ve had to get a little fish breeder setup in my refugium area to house him in until he gets bigger one day...first night he arrived I actually kept him floating in the bag because I feared losing him and never seeing him again.

Let’s hope it grows up and goes on to live a long life cause it really is a a stunner of a fish!!

That is an awesome goby. Think max size is 2.5cm, so hopefully soon it becomes more than matchstick size.

I saw 3 of these little guys at Viking last weekend. They are truly adorable but my fish might mistake it for a piece of mysis.

Ya its to get it passed that initial mini stage, but once/if its fully grown I think it will be fine. Although everything I read on these little guys says you never see them once introduced into a tank...lol maybe its good I have him in the little breeder box for now...enjoy him while it lasts :p

Haha ya thats where he came from...I think if I had to add him to my main display my peppermint hogfish would make short work of it before it even hit the substrate. :m85:

How is the multibar doing?
It’s still alive...I think it may actually look a little fatter than when I got it so that’s a good thing. Still won’t take prepared foods, but eats the pods and baby brine shrimp I feed it. Very shy fish though...soon as I go near the tank it goes into hiding...I have to watch it through a crack in the door :m85:

I know it must have been hard for you to part with the Argi Dane, after waiting so long to get one...don’t worry he’s in good hands and already settled and bossing the other fish around...must be a Bothasig Argi

It’s been a month and a half since I’ve posted any updates...tank has been plodding along doing its own thing...not much has changed - think I’ve added a purple cork screw anemone and that’s about it...some random pics to follow, taken over the last month and a bit.
