Copy and paste from advance aquarist:

"With time and conditioning, your comet will spend more time in view. Some individuals will even beg for food when you approach the aquarium. In general, a comet is more likely to spend time in the open in tanks with dim-lighting or when light levels are reduced (this makes sense when you consider that they are nocturnal fish). But do not expect your comet to constantly swim about at the front of the aquarium and entertain your guests - this is not the nature of this beast.
Adults of this species can be housed in a species tank as small as 30 gallons, although an aquarium of 55 gallons or larger would be preferable. Calloplesiops altivelis is a good candidate for the reef aquarium."

Predator fish. Your opinion on the matter. Aggressive, will it go for shrimps and smaller fish?. Really love the colors

I'm no professional on this topic as I've never kept this guy - However all I can say his been kept in a mixed reef with no issues at all, his also been with us for over a week now with about 5 shrimps and they all still there ? Of what I've read not aggressive, but could have a shrimp for breakfast if hungry ?

I've had mine for about 5 years and kept it with pretty small fish (3cm anthias etc.) and a coral banded shrimp without issues. It's now a big boy, about 20cm. Wouldn't trust it with micro gobies or small shrimp, but other than that it should be fine. Very, very peaceful fish.

basically if it cant fit in its mouth it will be safe and it doesnt have huge mouth like other similar fish in its genus , it also mimics a moray eel the eyespot and colour, id feel confident to put it with adult cleaner shrimps,It will however eat small shrimps that it can swallow and perhaps tiny nano gobies

It's a roundhead (Plesiopidae) not a grouper (Serannidae), so it's far less ravenous and aggressive. Same family as assessors.

Agreed and i think its smaller than the more rare blue devil to which it is related and hence safer with other good sized companions
