Here's a pic of my mandarin about 2 days after redoing my tank. He seems to be showing everyone that this is his territory.

Very nice mandarin, love it when a fish shows like that.

Wow - looks cool! I would LOVE to get a beaut of a male like yours, for my female mandarin!

My mandarin is REALLY nice and fat - BUT, I must spend more time practicing taking pics of my life-stock, as this is the area where I lack the most at this stage :)

Good luck with yours. BTW: After "re-doing" your tank, do you have enough pods to keep the fella happy??

I re-did the aquascaping this weekend on my tank, and got rid of a LOT of hair-algae (manually), but all this action seemed to have had a negative effect on the number of pods in my tank......

Thanks, all. I recently got a Sony A100 DSLR, so I'll be practicing a bit in the near future ;)
Well, jacquesb, I'm hoping the pod population increases quickly since I left the sump untouched, but I may be getting some critters from a very friendly LFS owner this week, just to be sure. Luckily, it's a 2m tank, so there should be enough hunting ground and growing ground for the mandarin and a sixline wrasse te be able to make it through the next 2 or 3 weeks, until the pod population increases.

Hair algae was the reason for redoing my tank, and I had large crushed coral as substrate, so the tank was positively teeming with pods - at least the fish would have been very heathly, giving them some fat to live off in these less-fertile times ...

BTW, jacquesb, if you ever need to let your mandarin go - I'm looking for a female for my male. Any idea where I can get one?

Hi there abg...

See my new thread in "Member's Setups" - one of the pics (I think the 2nd or 3rd one from the top shows my mandarin at the bottom of the tank, on her permanent quest to find food :)

Pic is not is nice as your - though, so please bear with it ;-)
