Thanks, all. I recently got a Sony A100 DSLR, so I'll be practicing a bit in the near future

Well, jacquesb, I'm hoping the pod population increases quickly since I left the sump untouched, but I may be getting some critters from a very friendly LFS owner this week, just to be sure. Luckily, it's a 2m tank, so there should be enough hunting ground and growing ground for the mandarin and a sixline wrasse te be able to make it through the next 2 or 3 weeks, until the pod population increases.
Hair algae was the reason for redoing my tank, and I had large crushed coral as substrate, so the tank was positively teeming with pods - at least the fish would have been very heathly, giving them some fat to live off in these less-fertile times ...
BTW, jacquesb, if you ever need to let your mandarin go - I'm looking for a female for my male. Any idea where I can get one?
