    Hallo every body.

Can any body help me with IDing my Mandarine? Is it a male/female?

It still has its PJ's on so don' be alarmed by his discolouration. Got him to lay still very early this morning...

    Great. Thanks.

I want to maybe get a male as well. Tank is large enough. Will have to look at the food source though...

Has any body succeded in getting these critters to eat lobster eggs, frozen brine shrimp etc?

It can be done (i have two that are eating frozen foods) and advisable especially if you want to get a second. You might have problems with other fish eating their food though as they are slow eaters.

If you do get a male, make sure he is at least double your female's size otherwise they will fight.

    Ok.
I am currently feeding enough food s that she also gets some, but havent seen her eat some of the frozen food. But she is in good shape. So I am positive that she gets a bit of both live food and some Frozen.

A problem is that juvenile males also look like females so if the fish is very small it could still turn out to be a male.

Here is a pic I took on Monday evening of the 2 I have in my tank during their mating dance.
