Hi All. Thanks to all of you for this great forum, it been a great help in getting me started. I have been reading and following many threads in this forum and i favour the big stuff like Glynn, Robvdv, Sean, Shawn and many others. So i have decided to start.

I have been keeping freshwater fish for many years now and have made the jump to marines.

I have decided to covert one of my double garages into a mancave ( hence the tital ) in the meantime while i am extending my house( where the proper mancave will be ).

I have started with a 2.4x0.84x0.75 tank ( secondhand ) to learn with and i have 2 x 7 000 l tanks that i got from the old Durban Seaworld. One will be for my American Cichlids and the other for Marines. But for now its just the 2.4 tank that will have water in.

I have alot of pictures for you guys so i will do my best to uplaod as many as possible.

    Thanks Calvin

Sorry i had captions on the photos but they didin't show up. My American Cichlids are living in their 6 000 l pond waiting for their new home.

I painted the back and sides of the glass.

That is my new sump built by Leigh from Reef Inmates.

Its costing me alot of money to get all the stratches out but at least the tanks are tried and tested.

A lot of jeweller's rouge and elbow grease, from what I understand :). Rene Turck might sell you a cheaper piece of low iron glass. Worth asking them for a quote: Rene Turck | Specialised Glass Products

Otherwise, what are you going to do to balance out the green tint?

And congratulations and good luck on the the start of your supersize journey :)

This tank is also just to learn with so im not going too overboard. And the thought of siliconing two of those sheets of glass i will live with the green for now.
