The resin chamber will take the TDS down to 0. This is where we want it. 3 is not bad but 0 is better.

And the important part is - price.

How much cheaper is it that compared to a marine RO unit.

i dont think its much cheaper.

we did the import for mr dave jones of the waterwell for there drinking water units.
thet are good, but there application is not for marine.
even though the t.d.s is 3.....remember that a drinking water r.o.unit has a tank with a rubber balloon bladder that will leach po4 into the water.

so if you adiment that you have a winner then at least add a de-ionising resin to the outlet that feeds the marine top up (do not use the resin side for drinking)

if you need help setting it up....let me know, i'll help you with the fittings you will need to make a dual conversion
    cool

Thanks Marco - ALL I would need is the resin chamber - whats the cost of that?

& I agree it's not the cheap or best solution but a working one.

I paid R2K for the unit - it's got a pump which is handy to get water out faster.

& it's not a cost thing more a FYI that if you don't have a marine RO unit it might be okay still!

When I bought mine I did not check up on it that well & was worried I would have a TDS of like 30

Why Marko? The water in Witbank tastes sh$t, and the waste water from my Waterboy unit still has that funny taste, although it is much cleaner. The 4th stage after the resin tastes very clean and lekka.
Or must I rather invest in a ''home'' RO unit for drinking and use the waterboy for my tank only?

yip. Being a sponser is tricky cause we got 2 names......marco and the waterboy and sometimes i forget to switch when posting.....lol
of course i'll give you a super deal.
The cost of a charged resin chamber with our patended indicator resin is R 280 plus vat
a r.o unit costs R1250 plus vat for a reefmaster and R1450 plus vat for the reefmaster plus that
has a resin chamber and flush valve

That the thing - I don't want 2 RO units - mine is a "home" Unit and has a TDS of 3 why not have a T- Piece & valve before the resin so that you can drink that water & if you want Marine water let it pass through the resin
