In the setup there is a lionfish, 2 humbugs, puffer fish, 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 boxer shrimp, bubbletip nennie, some polyps and a sinuleria...

    Apparently Aptasia X kills them.

I dont have aptasia X but I do have some Joes juice... Will it work? I also read that a kalk paste can be used, but I am not able to find any info on how to mix the kalk paste... Any ideas?

    There's 100s of the majano's...

I have never tried Kalk paste. But I'm sure you just add enough water to a little kalk powder until it's a thick paste. Then apply to said majano. Use RO water obviously....

I have 1 of them in my tank. Had it since I started and so far it hasn't multiplied. I was actually just thinking of covering it up with aquascaping putty. Waiting a month, then removing the putty.

I have used Joes Juice. It never even worked on my Aiptasia, I doubt it will work on the majano.

@Junz how do you bring it to a boil? On the stove or in the microwave?

By squirting so much kalk you can effec ph and wipe out the whole tank. A dangerous thing to do. Check out a diy device designed by Paul B for Majano. The cause of that is not doing enough water changes and water quality. They reproduce than fast leading to a outbreak.

You dont have to use the entire glass.... if used properly it has no effect on your tank or corals. iv been using it and this was once off to get rid of my aptisia.

    i wouldnt stress to much

vodka, take the lr out, spray vodka on the base, then dip the LR in old a bucket of tank water. Works for aipitasia.

This is interesting! How does this affect other organisms on the LR?
I was under the impression that you kill the organisms by removing the LR from the water?

The LR for your tank is not fully submerged all the way here from figi or Kenya or whereever. Do you know how much it would cost? Why you worried about the few organisms around where the majano/aipitasia is? You not soaking the whole rock in vodka

I have also mixed some kalk and Ro before. I then injected as little as .1ml into the base of the aptaisia and it is gone same time. Once I over injected and some zoas was concerned about it for a day or two, after that no prob. I would say it will be best to use the syringes used by diabetics cos they are so small. The needles clog up easily though and I think one should filter the kalk juice through a bit of the paper towels we use in the kitchen first.

I agree, this is a much milder acid and if it is strong enough to kill the Aiptasia then it will probably have a smaller effect on the rest of the tank. I am going this route next time.
