    Hi All

I cannot believe what has happened.

Yesterday before work I had a look at my tank and could not see my green mandarin. So I left it thinking that maybe he is behind the rocks.

So then today I came home again switched on my lights and still no sign of him. So i decided no ways. I drained about 30l and removed all my rocks and coral from my tank.

And what do I find..... Nothing! He is not there, he is not in any of the rocks, he is not in my hang on skimmer, wavemakers, etc.

He is not even on the floor.

Can anyone please advise if they have had troubles with there mandarin's jumping out of there tanks?

He is not any where to be found. Can any one provide me with a proper explanation. Ive got tangs, clowns, chromis, gramma's, cleaner shrimps nothing that could of harmed him!!!

    So what actually happened?

what was his condition? was he eating, maybe he was a bit thin, you did not notice, and he died, and then the shrimps have eaten him?

Have you got an anenome that could of eaten him?

He was healthy. He was eating frozen mysis shrimp and getting fat. I have a cleaner shrimp and fire shrimp. No anemone, Ive got a bubble coral, brain coral and tooth coral. He has vanished.

Not sure what tank you have, i have a boyuTl 550 and i had the same problem with my clown, woke up and he was gone, a day later found him at the bottom in one of the chambers doing well (he is still alive and well), so maybe check the canisters if you have a similar tank?

Or perhaps you have a open top tank and a cat?

I dont. Ive got a normal glass box with a hang on protein skimmer and cannot find him in there either. I have absolutely no idea where he has gone.

hi rudeboy i had a mandarin that was living in my first nano and eating frozen brine. after 11 months he went missing. found him dried out on floor. they are notorious jumpers if you do not have preventative measures in place.
