Hi. Wanting to start a Maine tank after having had a 120l tropical for 5 years. Been visiting all the marine shops (amazed at how many places are keen to sell equipment but don't have time to discus all the maintenance issues) and the online forums for info.

Would like final product to be between 120-200l, lots of coral and a couple of well selected fish - have lots to learn!

Anyone in cape town with a decent tank and good equipment to sell please PM me

I just saw another way and I think this way the Link might be under "My Aquarium Spec's" on the actual Profile...the one I actually think you probably want...:p

Go to User CP...Edit Profile and select "Edit Aquarium Spec's....at the bottom of everything you will see the section..."Link to you'r Tank Thread on the Forum"...maybe that is where you use the ball and chain rather...?..I just know the other way, but I assume it's both the same set-up...:confused1:

Speed Reader, are you? Buying a tank just three days or so after reading all the links Belindsmotion sent. Wow. Some guys takes months and years before deciding.

Look forward to seeing what you decided to go with.

    Welcome to MASA!

Have you decided on what coral/fish you are going to keep?

Remember the golden rule...pics or it doesn't exist! :)

@Albert Terego - luckily I started reading months before @belindamotion sent through those threads but they were an interesting read :p
@B00tCamp - looking at stocking with the following (looking for as much color as possible):
    2 percula clowns
    2 blue-green chromis
    1 algae-eating blenny (lawnmower?)
    1 flame angel
    1 fire fish
    1 yellow clown gobie.

I plan on doing a 20l water change (mainly Two Oceans water as I work almost opposite it) so think the load should be okay...

Welcome. We also started with freshwater fish (Goldfish, then guppies/mollies/swordtails, then angels and discus. Now onto the good stuff :) The fish listed should be fine together. Let us know if you need any help with anything.

    Sounds good

Allthough, I would possibly add a 3rd chromis so they can shoal...from what ive read its best to keep them in odd numbers eg 3,5,7...and so on...

    Algae-eating Blenny = Lawnmower = Salarias fasciatus

Are you adding a CUC? (clean up crew)
