    Hi all

Lorri's the name and I live in East London. Just invested in a new tank almost a "cube" 80cm X 60 and 60cm deep. Tank has not arrived yet - only coming in a month's time. Bought a display tank from a local marine shop and it comes with the works. Don't know which make of protein skimmer, sump, 4 T5 and a cabinet.

Now I am one of those really dangerous people who know just a little but not enough to really get this thing going on my own, so I'm gonna need lotsa help. Have two teenage children who have dabbled in this for a while and now I have decided to give this a go as well - properly this time.

I have read the starting up the aquarium thread - lots of good advice there. Looked at some nice photo's on rock structures in cubes, decided on where to put the tank when it arrives.

So all there is left to do for now is learn some more so that I don't mess up and kill everything in the tank.

Welcome to MASA Lorri, glad you joined!!!

Cubes are nice and we have a couple guys with awesome cubes/cube like tanks here on Masa.
Good you read that thread already, so now you know that a tank needs to cycle first for a couple weeks before adding any livestock ;)

Keep us updated and please post pics when the tank arrives :)

Thanks for the welcome into this "prestigious" hobby sector. My husband (the financier) of this operation and I hope to enjoy many hours together seeing our tank develop and take shape. I am the "researcher/brains" of the operation and he is the financier - a good combination I think.

Our teenage children have been keeping tanks for a while, but nothing serious. We spend hours down at the beach with them and hours changing water etc, etc. Now we have decided that if you can't beat them, join them. A brave venture to be sure but I am so excited. I can't wait for the tank to arrive.

Will post pictures as soon as it arrives. Am investing in live rock in the meantime to cycle the tank with.
