If you want to use it for drawing kinda stuff you should probably go for one with a decent screen resolution. 2gb of mem seems to be the standard these days to run everything decently.

Celeron is just like a budget cpu, it has less cache memory onboard which is really expensive so it's cheaper but usually rubbish. Basically any new laptop you get now should be have a Core2Duo cpu. Don't get confused with Core Duo, that's the last generation. Pentium M, P4 etc are all really old by now.

Those "cellular" deals usually aren't that great.

I wouldn't buy a proline laptop. Didn't know they even made laptops...
The 1.73 is most likely a pentium M. R4800 is a LOT for that then.

Just use google.co.za and search for laptop. There's a number of online shopping sites just for laptops. The one that springs to mind for about 5k is the HP 530.

you wont get much for 5k, i have a acer, 1.8 celeron, 1gb DDR (RAM), 120gb hard drive, 15.4" screen, 802.11bg WLAN (for connecting to a adsl router or wireless network) and it was R6.5k at the beginning of the year
