I have always been a huge fan of cube tanks. So I decided it was time for a bit of a change and ordered the glass for my new 600x600x500(H) cube.
Glass was ordered at 10mm thickness and polished all around with an IM C2C overflow.

I decided to use clear silicone as that a black band might detract from the view (open to debate just MPO).
Managed to get the stand done today stand is 1200x600x800(h). My reason for having a stand twice the length of the tank was 2 fold.
Firstly i needed to fit a 45x45 cube tank that i recently purchased in as a RO reservoir (i hate topups) as well as a perfect 50x50 cube sump(thanx reefhead).
Secondly i will be recycling the stand & sumps at a later date when i decide to go 1200x600x600.

Enough wada wada more pics pics..

    Top of the stand 50x50:

Stand might be a bit overkill but better safe safe sorry.

50x50 sump (500ml MB7 bottle for size). baffle placement still to be confirmed.

I'll keep updating as / when anything changes.

managed to get the first coat of QD enamel white on this weekend..
as well as siliconed all of the joints and base.
My thinking is that normally these are the first things to rust in the event of the inevitable spills.
Stand is curing in my dads outbuilding at the moment.

    Loki,

Mind walking us through your sump? Where are you planning on putting the skimmer? External?

My sump design works well for cubes :p

I like the fact you have more space in the engine room. Nice.

I like the look of IM tanks and stands and those are all QD white.
Plus i can't find the real makoya hammerite anywhere.
The other stuff you get flakes off or bubbles after a couple of years.

To be honest Elrond I haven't really planned much WRT the sump.
I do know it will be as simple as possible.
I'm thinking Skimmer inlet and heaters -->chaeto and LR chamber --> thin floss partition --> Return to display.

Having said that, i am completely open to ideas..
