    hi guys,

does anyone know what local species of triggerfish we get? I caught a junvenile rececently that appears to be able to change colour and texture, and patterns of his skin! 'normal state' appears to be a type of leopard print with blue bits in the head area... no pics as yet as I don't want to stress him out by catching him again.. he is in a tank that u can only see from the top

I think they called white tail triggers - unfortunately mine jumped out managed to save him first time but I think he did it again when we were not around - I found an army of ants trying to carry him away from where he landed![IMG]

I think that may be the one I have... mine doesn't have a white tail though...just a white spot above it's tail. It's tail seems to be a yellowish colour. very cool fish

Unfortunately not as they might grow big and strong then come back and carry the wife and myself one day..... Just rinsed him off and fed him to some hermits in the sump - they were feasting for sure

Thanks man... mine doesn't seem to look like any of them. Will search for pics of Juveniles on the web, and see if any match.
