    Hi All,

i am in the energy supply industry and i can assure you that there will be power outtages this winter, be prepared!

at minimum you need to run your return pump and a cheap 50w heater, this will save you plenty heartache

Think you meant to ask if DC heaters are available. As all heaters that we have is AC :tt2:

But I dont think there is. Closest you might get is a DC heatpump and then I am guessing as well.

@Len, be careful with gas heaters as they strip your room of oxygen and leave the wonderful carbon monoxide behind. Leave a window open at least. All the sucking and oxygenating we provide for our tanks also means that the tank sucks up everything else in the environment including the bad things.

try find out about dc heating cables - in the past the race guys were heating there Nos bottles with heating cables wound around the bottle , and powered by the car battery.

remember it doesn't have to heat the tank , just slow down the fall in temp until the power goes on again , and they not pricey.

guys, do the cheaper invertors work? I spoke to Lanzo who did advise that an air pump to break the surface would assist in times without power?

battery powered air pumps are a great last resort backup buy a couple (depends on size of tank)and you fine for water movement in all but the largest tanks but for heating you have to find other alternatives
