Hi guys, need a bit of advise please.

My tank has been cycling for about 13 weeks now. I got a little pincusion and some zoas from a friend so that is going nicely. no fish yet, some hermits and snails

I have 2 x 54w on for about 10-12 hours daily. some days they will be off because of the problem.

I am getting a lot of green algue on the rock, glass and brown algue on the aragonite.

What fish will be suited to help with the algae on the rocks etc. i know i will get on the glass

    Thanks guys ;)

The brown algae on the aragonite is completely normal, it is known as diatoms and will eventually disappear on it's own, there is nothing you need to worry about with that, it is part of the cycling process of a new tank and diatom blooms can occur in tanks up to year old or more.

The green algae may also be 'normal' but we will need to identify it first, can you post some close up photo's of it? It could be Bryopsis, filamentous, encrusting, Caulerpa and so on, we need more information on it so we can correctly id it as there are different removal methods for different types of algae.

Sounds to me like your tank is still in "cycle" mode.
So both the algaes are normal at this stage.
Remember a cycle is not an exact thing. It differs from tank to tank.Depends on a lot of factors.(Qaulity of LR,was it cured 100%,type of substrate,filtration,additives(MB-7 or stabillity) and of course....bio load.)
Ive heard of members tank's taking 2 months to cycle and my nano took 8-9 days to cycle.

I have another interesting one here. Please have a look at the below photo. It almost looks like a cotton coat.
Have you ever seen something like this before? Is this treatable? Its taking over the entire piece of liverock.

Those bubbles remind me of cyano...

Tangs and foxfaces eventually in your tank will chomp the non-cycling algae i reckon
