What do you plan to do?

Use the equipment and LS and run the tank as you bought it.

    Restart the tank anew.

OK it is important to assess the condition of the LR before any action is taken.

Do you know what the water parameters were when you bought the tank?

Was the tank running when you bought it?

Can you post a PIC of the rock so that we know what type of rock we are talking about?

I will post a pic tomorrow as the live rock is currently in a bin with a power head and water. Yes, the tank was running perfectly with fish in it. The tank was running for the past 10 years

Great. I am particualy interested in a pic of the old tank. This will give an indication if there are any issues with the rock.

We need to look out for things like excesive algae growth, pests like aiptaiser and if the LR is in fact LR and not just sandstone or beach/rock pool rocks.

Skimmer is not that needed. But if you can, it will help.

Remember to keep an eye out on evaporation and you salinity levels.
