    Hey guys

bought some awesome looking rock on Saturday from Idol.
had lots of green, white, red and purple.
I put it in the tank and Sunday when i woke up there was no green left on it.
look like my blennie and hermmies stripped it clean. :nono:
Did they do a good thing or bad thing?

depends on what the green was. If it was algae, nothing wrong.

    Zuna,

When you say green , white red and purple I take it that you are referring to the coralline algae on the rocks.

It's quite normal for coralline to change when placed into different systems. The coralline is probably adapting to the new conditions in your tank and should come back again soon. Don't be surprised though if the colours come back differently.

    I wouldn't worry about this.

I would agree! Mostly Blennie and hermits eat algae and would leave other types of beneficiall algae alone. What type of hermits do u have? Some hermits are not reef safe and will eat ANYTHING!!!

    Zuna,

Basically just some macro algae ( sea lettuce etc.) that has been gobbled up by your hungry inmates.
Once again nothing to worry about. Most of the time it will grow back again , be eaten off , grow back again and so the cycle will carry on.

Nice quality live rock though !;)

    Zuna,

Difficult to comment without a picture. Even with a picture it would probably be dificult to determine exactly what they were.
Once again , no problem in doing what you did.

Can you please post some full size tank pics ?

They are fine with a reef! Nice looking live rock there...wouldn't worry about the rock being stripped. Part of the cycle of life!
