Normally shrimps are safe but crabs tend to be destructive of our reefs.

The shrimp is most likely a Mantis shrimp, and must go. Is it small and green?

Most Crabs are OK when small, but most are destructive when getting bigger. Put the piece of LR he is on in the sump.

rule of thumb is if a crab has black or pointed claws, its not reef friendly! and i agree with the previous posters, only shrimp i've seen come in on live rock are mantis, and they are baadddd news! unless you plan to keep one in a species-only tank.

Place a tall glass against the live rock and add something fishy like marine mix in there. Leave it for a few days and the crab should go in but he will not be able to climb out of the glass:thumbup:
