    Hey Deadmeat,

I didn't breed the mysids, I caught those with a net whilst diving near the twelve apostles (sandy cove). During some part of the year they are everywhere! used them to feed my seahorses.

man how did you keep them alive? I am a member at the yacht club and there in summer is millions of the stuff, i caught them but they didnt make it home alive.

do they die when they get into contact with air?

    Johan,

As far as I can remember ( as I had these tanks back in 2003-2005) I was scuba diving with a large net, swimming through swarms of the crustaceans which after collection, I put them into a dive bag, and had a smallish, easily transportable container at the exit point near the shoreline. I then moved them into a large 55gallon drum in the Bakkie. They do not die from brief contact with air, however I found them intolerable to moderate changes in water parameters especially temperature, acclimation should be patiently undertaken.

Mandarinman, This was a while ago and I do not have the culture at present. If you would like a started culture, as said in previous writings, you should try go to sandy cove or anywhere around the coast during the peak season. A small amount of internet research im sure will tell you when's best.

    Regards
    Amphi
