Hi Guys

Last night i saw dozens of little worms come out of the live rock ... they are white in colour and seem to have dozens of legs or bristles.... they hate light and so i could not take any pics. they range in size from a couple of mm up to about 4cm and seem to be living in the live rock.

What are they and are they good?

Sound like bristle worms. Good CUC, they can get out of hand if you overfeed

Agree bristleworms, very handy as freebies but the bristles hurt like hell so be careful ;)

so those buggers are good but will sting you! .... thanks guys

They keep your tank clean. They eat uneaten food before it can rot...
Extra bonuss is they crawl in and around your live rock keeping the channels in the rocks open for water flow helping your filtration. Also they crawl aroudn your substrate doing the same thing and keeping it from compacting and rotting..

They should...especially the good quality rock..
But you cistal okes can just go scoop a hand full of snad out of a tidal pool or something to get all the good worms and gogga's going ;)
