    Thanks @RiaanP
Once comments are in and the list is a bit more complete maybe you can change it to a poll. 1. Which unit do you use, tank size and depth, was price a major factor in your choice yes/no.

A poll will be a bit of an problem. The list include all version of certain units where different sizes are available.
And there are enough Led discussion threads at the moment.
Would like this to be unbiased complete list to provide the basic information. From here you can hopefully get an idea of what can work for you.

@RiaanP something you might also like to add is the controllability of the units. Could become a nightmare but something to work towards. Eg controller on unit, controller separate, wired controller, wireless controller, can work on 0-10v aquarium computer interfaces, internet operation, number of units that can be linked to a controller, number of Chanel's controllable, lightning and storm functions, moon phases, cloud sweeps, reef location simulation, etc. these are just some that come to mind, but I am sure there are many others.

Can try that once I can get the forum to accept things in column mode, very much like Excell spreadsheet. But no forums can do that. BBcode is supposed to work. Still need the time to find that one out.

    Hi RiaanP

Your coverages are way out on most Vertex Illumina units

    Example Vertex Illumina 1800 SR360 coverage is 2400mm x 1200mm

    coverage on Illumilux units

    300 mm unit cover 600mm x 250mm
    600 mm unit cover 900mm x 250mm
    900 mm unit cover 1200mm x 250mm
    1200 mm unit cover 1500mm x 250mm

    Good idea RiaanP

    I suggest adding the following

LED type ie CREE Bridgelux philips osrasm
Usable Depth for each unit for keeping SPS
    Warranty on units
    fullspectrum or not
    Dimming functions
    Upgradeability

Pacific suns are also readily available in South Africa, I know of two guys that bring them in. One in Cape Town and one in Durban.

My unit is athe Pandora Hyperion R2 9 channels of LED total wattage of leds is 450 watts and then 4 T5 of 54 watts. Length of unit is 1200mm. Total coverage is 1,5m x 900.
    Cost is approximately 32k
Unit is controlled wirelessly with Blue tooth. Software on your pc or laptop.
There are other units to fit many tanks.
Full list of units is available at: About us - Pacific Sun Aquarium LED Lighting

@carlosdeandrade please convince us why you need to spend R32k to illuminate a 1500x900 tank and make sps flourish. Im trying to see how the extra R15k ties in :)

My mistake, those are the actual unit size. Difficult to keep spacing intact.
PM sent to get the right info.

Because the vertex sr360 cost more and have less leds and no T5. That's why.

    Also
Also, to light my tank with the Radion Pro's it would cost 40k, see where I am going with this, I hope I have shed some light on the matter.

Because even the affordable Pharos 130W you would need 4, most likely 6 units on his tank. Take note, it is shallow with corals up to the end. Plus then controller extra. You are looking at 20G anyway, close to. With six units, at 28G. Add another good quality 4 tube T5 unit fully controllable with dimmable ballast. Example the 8 tube AD-Matrix 54W is R14 119.00 from one of the other sponsors. Cannot find quickly a 4 tube example. So take 8 to 9000 as a indicative price on a 4 tube. And you are at 28000. Only 4K less than the Pacific Sun. With six units you are over.

He had 4 Radions hanging with multiple wires from the ceiling. He tidied that up with a much cleaner looking system. And this is at the entrance of his house. a real show piece. Must admit, it does look a lot better than multiple units. If he had a canopy, maybe yeah, then it would have been OK. But then again he bought the unit some time ago.

So yes, every person have their own personal preferences.

If you see Carlos's tank in person you will understand.

Having 6 units with multiple wires over the tank would only deter from the neat clean tank carlos has.
