Hey guys and girls:) ... i recently setup a standard 2ft tank which i would like to 'TRY' and make into one of those "glassbox design" beauties ,but firstly i need to get it running smooth

    *tank is standard 2ft
    *no sump
*Aquaclear 50 (anti-phos, carbon and zeo)
*boyu wg308 skimmer (no intention to upgrade as skimmer works pretty well imo)
    *sun sun 101 streamer
*odyssea dual 60cm light unit T5 HO
    *blue led moonlights on timer

currently the tank is running 2 weeks and was started up on prodibio. It contains +-5kgs of liverock, a 3cm deep livesand bed and a couple of frags.tonight i will add more liverock to do a nice scape and hope it takes off from there

Sounds like a nice simple design. I had a 30litre tank running on a aquaclear hob filter for a while and it worked quite well.

Thanks...... i did do some research on 'nanoreef' , 'glassbox' etc and im basically copying how they successfully did it, and obviously i will couple it up with weekly testing and 10-20% water changes with a good quality salt ......;)

It is an led for growing cheato, which use up some of the nitrates and phosphate as it competes with nuisance algae. The reason one of the leds is red, is that red light provides good growth rates at shallow depths.

ok i know the function of a fuge, as my dad said he will sort out one for me soon... i just was concerned bout the light colours, coz ive seen it on another build before but as to my knowlege, the more the light reflects natural shade ie 6000k-8000k..the quicker the growth hence quicker absorbtion .... so today i learnt something new concerning colours

    thanks:thumbup:

Thats why I have a mixture of white about 8000k and red at the back.
As far as coral goes you don't want any red lights.
