    Hi All,

I managed to get my mother to setup a nano a couple months back and recenlty setup a sump system on it too, the problem is, my mother unfortunately told my GF that she wish she had gone with a bigger tank.....WRONG MOVE.... I found out about this and started a plan of action.....:whistling:

So here whats happening.... I'm taking Mekaeels old 1m Cube off him to setup for her, should look nice and she is pretty happy.

So here some Q's, please give your 2C.

    1. What lights should I go for? was thinking of 3x 150w (shop light fitting type) or 3x 250w (DIY), one on each side, facing the center.

    2. 3 or 6 39w actinic T5's.

    3. 4x prop 1500 pumps to start with.

    4. Running with a TS4.

    What you think? :whistling:

Dude how will you cool the tank? Summer is over in Empangeni but that may be a huge issue later on - you know how hot it gets....

It's gonna be great having another tank in Empangeni :)

I 400W, and some T5s. That will be the best IMO, its shallow and the light will spread lekker. Just make sure your RO filter is super charged:)

Not sure 1x 400w will "cover" the tank, that why I thought 3 lights, this will give better spread?

Well IMO luminarcs are good for 900x900 (look at Bob's stock tanks) so I would go with 1x250w (2 if budget is there) and a few 39w T5's...guys you really need to think about the heat...Empangeni is very hot in summer and I'm sure his mom is not going to jump in with a fully stocked SPS tank...

You will need a bigger chiller else you will need some nice big fans and an ATO.

I agree with you scuba 400w the way to go 14k. but thats not going to need more R/O that depends on humidity levels and type of water flow.
A chiller should do the rest for summer

Thx guys, but just not convinced that a 400w will cover the tank... thinking 2 250w to start with, perhaps a 3rd if required?

Oh forgot to mention. Big thanks to Meks, Humz, Andreas, Simone and Scubaninja for the help to get that heavy ass tank down 11 stories and into the back of my van

And what a good movie we watched after the move! Good laugh.

    Just an update,

After breaking and fixing the tank we got it up and running over the weekend, and its looking good.
    So what I've done:

-Washed and put down play sand as the substrate
-Got the 2x 250W 14K Mh up on a quick DIY hood until the cabinet is made.
-Modded the original sump to house the TS4, which is up and running, and boy, its awesome.....

Will be building a refrug and possibly a DSB or ATS soon.

Unfortunately I DON'T have any pics but will take some soon.
